A Student Perspective

  • Don’t be overwhelmed! Check out the Fortnight calendar at the beginning of each week and choose a few events that appeal to you. Be sure to put them on your calendar! If you can’t make it to an event you’re interested in, remember that departments are also holding one-on-one office hours during Fortnight.
  • Speak with as many concentration representatives as you can at any events you attend. One of the most important things you should do during Fortnight is gain lots of different perspectives on the concentrations you’re interested in.
  • If you’re considering pursuing one of the stand-alone secondary fields, it’s a great idea to attend that field’s concentration event, if one is offered. Fortnight is a time for academic advising in general, not just for concentration advising.
  • Step outside of your comfort zone. When deciding which events to attend, don’t simply attend the events of concentrations you’re considering declaring. Fortnight is a great opportunity for exploring your interests wherever they may lead. You never know what you might discover!
  • Have Fun!
